Sweater Weather

Posted on

It’s finally sweater weather in Oklahoma! I have been excitedly anticipating the colder temps to arrive in Oklahoma and this week in December the weather Gods answered my call.

For starters, this outfit might be my most favorite for winter. These boots are my favorite piece of all. They are the Brown Suede Blake Sam Edelman Booties I purchased from Nordstrom’s a couple of weeks ago. I know I’ve talked about Sam Edelman shoes prior to this post, but I can’t get enough of these shoes! They are made so well and are the most comfortable shoes (especially heels) my feet have ever been part of. I’m actually planning on purchasing another pair of these in an opposite color because I love them that much!

The jeans are from Banana Republic and I’ve had them going on two years. They are my “tight” skinny jeans and for good reason. They have a flattering color (dark always looks a little dressier when styling), fit snug and are a classic must have pair. I actually wore these for our engagement pictures last spring and I love how they also paired with a white spring off the shoulder top- very versatile.

I’m wearing two tops- it was cold! The first is a camel colored turtleneck from Gap and the gray sleeveless sweater I purchased is from Target. It sweater is longer in back that front which is nice if you prefer low jeans. I love how versatile the Target piece is. It pairs well with brown neutrals, grays or colors and looks great under jackets, even busy leopard print!

Speaking of leopard print, this jacket is so cute– am I right? I’m a sucker for the pattern. I purchased it last year after Christmas at Dillard’s and have only worn it a handful of times, but I love the way it looks with these dark jeans and brown suede booties. It is not the warmest, but the two tops underneath make up for the lack of warmth.

This year I’m all about the ponchos and turtlenecks and have good reason to be so. Be checking back in on posts about how to style such bulky pieces. Happy weekend, friends!
